Hello! So, I've never ever been blog-savvy before. But - since I have the option now, might as well. Welcome to my first blog entry! What to tell you? What to tell you? The main focus is now Writing The Rails. (www.writingtherailstour.com) The Inaugural one happened last December. Went with Theresa Carter (The Local Tourist) to Memphis to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. After expenses, WTR raised $200 for St. Jude's. A meager start - BUT - we did what we set out to do. Establish WTR, play some great venues, make friends and raise money for a very noble cause. I am pleased to announce that WTR is set to tour to Detroit on Feb. 10 through Feb. 14, 2010! Yes, it is close. However, we have quite a number of gig prospects in as well as a GREAT charity to raise money for. Leah Jones, the founder of Natiiv Arts and Media, just picked up The Friendship Circle as a client. They are a Wonderful organization located in Detroit dedicated to educating and helping children with Special Needs. The timing couldn't have been better for both Natiiv and for WTR since FC is in the running for the $1 Million via the Chase Community Giving contest. Chase is giving up to $5,000,000 in charity money with the Grand Prize being $1,000,000. How can you help? Spread the word and vote for FC here: www.voteFC.com I'll keep this blog short.
